I am seeing an issue when converting pubs to pdfs in Calibre on macOS. This is not a new issue so it is not particular to a recent build of Calibre or the current version of macOS or Apple silicon vs Intel chips.
I've attached a simple source EPUB. I chose to embed fonts and you can see in the log below that it was unable to embed Menlo and some Avenir fonts. I mainly see the issue in headings for example on page 6 of the pdf you can see it in Warmup and you can see it a bit in section.
In the attached zip there is the source which is .epub, the output which is .pdf and the log

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every alternate Friday.
