Bug Description
Calibre 5.17* (x64, run from source)
Steps to replicate:
1. Switch to dark mode.
2. Open book details window. Notice cover background is dark grey.
3. Right-click an author/tag/some other metadata and delete it. This turns the background white again.

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every alternate Friday.
