Bug Description
I installed a program. It put a shortcut (.lnk) to a PDF manual on my start menu. I dragged the shortcut into Calibre, expecting it to add the PDF. Instead, it added the lnk file itself.
I understand why it happened, but seeing as shortcuts are a bit of a special case I suggest that Calibre somehow be able to handle that.
(Unless it's already intended to do that, in which case this is actually a bug report.)
