Enhancement Request: Add "Edit Metadata" and "view book details" to quickview right-click menu.

Currently, the only option in the quickview right-click menu is "view." Adding both "edit metadata" and "view book details" here would be helpful. (Example: Checking/editing metadata of books in a different virtual library.)

If you hover the mouse over a line in QV you see a prompt telling you how to a) change the selection in the book list to that book thus changing the book details panel, or b) open an edit metadata window for that book, changing the selected book in the process. Are you asking that these two operations be added to the context menu? Or are you asking for something else?

The context menu itself, yes.

Also, note that when a book is unavailable in the current virtual library (e.g. I have series split across my "default" and "physical books" libaries), shift or ctrl+doubleclicking fails with a "no books selected" error without first switching to all books, which clears the current search criteria. Hopefully adding it to the context menu would bypass that.

Note that I am not going to change QV to change the virtual library selection.

If I have anything in the search bar, it clears that when I change virtual libraries so I have to put it back with the dropdown menu.

Ahh, you want QV to edit metadata and show book details for books that aren't displayed in the library view. Selecting and editing metadata in QV requires the book be present in the library view because QV uses library view commands to be sure that everything is kept correct. This isn't going to change no matter where the operation is initiated (keyboard or context menu).

I will add the operations to the QV context menus. That makes them more discoverable.

Added operations to the QV context menu. The second part of the request, allow QV to "operate" on books that are not displayed in the library view, is a "won't fix".

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every alternate Friday.
