Bug Description

Hi,

Running Calibre 4.16.0 under Windows 10, when trying to get metadatas from a book using Amazon source, I'm facing an issue with some titles containing accentuated caracters like À, É, or even œ

The error message is :

InvalidURL: URL can't contain control characters. '/s/?sort=relevancerank&field-title=B\xc3\xa9atrix\xc3\x80&search-alias=stripbooks&unfiltered=1&field-author=Honor\xc3\xa9+Balzac' (found at least '\xc3')

Attached the full task log.

Thanks for your help and that wonderful software!

Best Regards,
Smeulf.

Just upgraded to 4.17.0 and the issue still exists despite commit https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibre/commit/e819b62e0bbe8139ebd5c810d0783fc8a6c967eb
