Bug Description

Updated Calibre to the newest 4.1 version.
I'm having problem with opening an epub ebook.
While opening, I have text, that: "Preparing book for first read, please wait…". I've waited about 20 minutes, still nothing.

CPU usage is high (calibre worker process 32-bit) - it runs even, when I quit the application.

Since you didn't attach the problem book, I cannot be sure but most likely this is a duplicate of #1846886

Can't upload because of some copyrights etc...
But the book (Mastering Windows Server 2019, 2nd Edition) has 9.15MB and it has about 500 pages.

I've downloaded the epub from #1846886 - similar situation - but the book was opened after 10 (or more) minutes. But the book preview is unresponsive (high CPU usage of QTwebengineprocess), if I want go to full screen - app is freezing.

On previous version of Calibre everything was fine, app was fast.

Got the same problem with many epubs. Looooong "preparing for first read", callibre-parallel.exe maxes core usage and whole ebook-viewer is frozen.
