Bug Description
Running latest version of Cailbre and attempting to use Calibre Sync to send books to. I am connected to an early Kindle Fire and Calibre insists on sending epub formats. From what I can figure, it is due to the deviceKind=blaze, vs fire on a USB connection.
Can the string "blaze" be added to where ever the plugin is configured to have this be a valid Kindle Fire device? This used to work a very long time ago, and am guessing an update changed how things match up. I am unsure where to edit files to manually test this..
Calibre version: 3.40.1
States: Connected Wireless Device: blaze
OS: Ubuntu based (mint 19) based on Ubuntu bionic
The device is reliably detected, just appears to be some kind of default instead of a Kindle Fire device.
calibre does not connect wirelessly to Kindle Fire's unless you are
running some kind of app on the Fire such as calibre Companion that
speaks the calibre wireless device protocol. You should be able to
configure what formats to send to any connected devie by simply right
clicking the device icon in calibre and choosing "Configure this
device..."
