That looks like a disk space issue, check if the system drive (usually
c:) is low on disk space.

 status invalid

Changed in calibre:
status: New → Invalid

Kovid,

Thanks,
C: drive has only 8.5 GB free out of 100 GB
The Calibre Library is on D:
The Library takes 230 MB.
D has about 160 GB free out of 360 GB.

I'll try to get some more free space on C:
The page file is 20 GB and the hibernate file is 15 GB.
I'll could turn off Hibernation, and see what happens.
Best regards, Ed

Kovid,
I reduced the size of the paging file by 4 GB to 12 GB.

Same problem, same error message.

If I open windows "Programs and Features" and click "Repair" then Calibre starts successfully.
But I guess that will not persist.
I'll post again if it crashes, or in a week if it does not crash.

I should mention that the crash is a new thing,
I have run Calibre OK for almost three years without a problem on this PC

Best regards,
Ed

THIS IS STILL A CRITICAL BUG.
It prevents Calibre from starting.
What can I do to give you more information?
I have updated to latest Calibre, but this bug still occurs.

How is this an INVALID bug?
It still prevents Calibre from running, whether it is INVALID or not.

Because it is not a bug in calibre, it is windows telling calibre that I
cannot tell you what the current users username is because I dont have
enough space. There is nothing calibre can do about that.
