Bug Description

All versions and all operating systems.

The buttons "OK" and "Cancel" behave exactly in the same way. In order to confirm the trimming action there is the third button "Trim & OK". This button would be unnecessary if the button "OK" would behave as expected.

No, OK and Cancel do not behave the same. Try clicking the Trim button
on top then clicking OK, the trimming will be applied. The Trim & OK
button is a shortcut to avoid needing to click Trim. The reason there is
a separate Trim button is so that you can preview the effects of the
trim.

One could argue that OK should behave as Trim & OK if there is a
selection rectangle, however, I am not certain that is a good thing,
since trimming is a lossy operation, it's good to be able to see the
effects before committing. THough I am willing to be convinced
otherwise.

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every alternate Friday.
