Bug Description
For books with no Table of Contents (ToC), Calibre has some nifty options: generating ToC from headings, links, files, and XPath. The problem arises when certain books are just badly formatted, or when you're combining a bunch of webpages or articles into a book for easier reading on your eReader. In certain cases, you want to create a ToC from a single html file where everything is dumped as plain text.
It would help if calibre could create a ToC from lines in the html that start with the word 'Chapter' or a number. Even if this causes the addition of some extra entries, it would still save a ton of time, rather than having to manually navigate through the file to label chapter beginnings.
Thanks for this amazing program, and I hope you consider adding this feature.

You can already do this. Like most advanced, heavy-duty fixups, this
will require some elbow grease.
The support forums at http:// mobileread. com have lots of good
information on utilizing this, so there is a good chance someone has
already written about the exact case you have, and if not there are a
large number of very helpful people who can guide you through the process.
