When I update calibre, like I did this morning, at the very end 10% of a dialog box shows in the upper left corner of the screen. I found by trial and error that if I click on the box and hit "Enter", calibre opens. This is a PITA. Is there a work around?

AS far as I know there are no such dialog boxes in the calibre
installer. I certainly dont see one while doing installs on my windows
system. I'm guessing it comes from windows. What does the dialog box say?

And note that you can always use the portable installer instead from:

Thanks for your quick response.

I don't know what the dialog box asks because I can't see it. Again, only
about 10% of the box is visible. I'll try to send a screen shot the next
time I update calibre. Wonderful app, this is a tiny distraction.

Cheers!

You should be able to move the window so that you can see it, using
something like: https://www.askvg.com/how-to-move-or-resize-an-off-screen-window-in-windows/

Thanks. Calibre 3.15 became available today so I hoped to test drive your
tip. I updated and the "Finish" dialog box appeared right in the middle of
the screen at the end of the install. This may have been the box that was
almost off the screen previously. The one thing that's happened since the
previous calibre update was that Windows 10 Fall Creators Update was
installed. Perhaps this affected the "Finish" box placement.

I'll keep your tip in mind in the future.

Happy New Year
!
