Bug Description

Calibre 3.11.1
Windows 7

New BN Nook Glowlight 3 is not recognized. I can add books to it via "Save to Disk" but it cannot be managed as a device. Would be great to see it work! Thank you.

In order to add support for this device to calibre you must provide *all* the information asked for here: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq.html#how-can-i-help-get-my-device-supported-in-calibre

Complete list of e-book formats that your device supports.
Text: ePub, PDF, Adobe DRM ePub and PDF.
Graphic: JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP.

Is there a special directory on the device in which all e-book files should be placed?
It seems to be a top level folder called NOOK

Also does the device detect files placed in sub-directories?
Yes. Within the NOOK folder, books are placed in sub-folders created using author Last Name, First Name

Thank you for taking the time to look at this. Hopefully this is all the required info. If not, please let me know what I've missed.

That is fine. One question. Are books placed in a folder called "My Files" also recognized? If they are that would be nice, as then calibre can jst use the same driver for this device as for previous Glowlights.

No. As far as I can tell that no longer works with this model.

I checked and the directory structure is different from an older Glowlight Simpletouch that I also have. The older one of course has the My Files folder you refer to. They seem to have changed things with this new model. I think it has to do with them walling off the majority of the device's memory for the exclusive use of things purchased through the Barnes & Noble Store. When you look at this device's properties in Windows, you can only see ~1GB of its 6.5GB of onboard space. They also did away with SD support.

OK, I will add some code to change the upload dir based on product id. See if the betas uploaded here: https://download.calibre-ebook.com/betas/ work for you.

That worked perfectly! Thanks so much.

Now I just need to find out how to tap into all that storage they have walled off :-)
