Bug Description

Sometimes, when launching Calibre, some of the covers (can be one, a few, or lots) appear very small (see picture). I am running Calibre 3.9 but I have noticed this bug since 3.7 at least. I am now running Calibre on MacOS Sierra 10.12.6

Is this a temporary thing? Are the covers always small or just on some starts?

Thanks for the quick response Kovid. The issue happens randomly (not on every start) but once a cover turns small, it stays like that in subsequent restarts and the only way to make it large again is to edit the cover metadata.

When the cover is small does going to Preferences->Look & feel->Cover
grid then clicking Larger covers and Apply cause the cover size to
reset?

Yes it does! I clicked on 'Larger covers' and switched from 'Auto' to something else like 4.0 x 5.3. Then clicked 'Apply' and the covers went back to normal (large) size.

I also went back to preferences and clicked 'Reset size' to bring it back to 'Auto'. The cover stay large, so that fixes it!
