Bug Description

Calibre 3.6.0
Win 10 Pro

Hi, i have several epubs downloaded and want to read it on google play books.

Problem is, i can't open the file in google play books after i import the epubs to calibre, and then export it to a folder. i do it by using "save to disk > save only EPUB format to disk."

But i can open it fine in google play books if i don't import the file to calibre.

Any suggestion with this problem? i attached one of the epub. Reason i want to import it to calibre first is because calibre has very good catalogouing capabilities.

Thank you. i hope i dont describe it complicatedly.

There is nothing wrong with that epub file that I can see. And since
google play books gives us no useful error message, it is impossible to
know why it is refusing to open the book. I suggest simply using any one
of the dozens of other epub reading apps, the vast majority of which are
much more robust than google play books.

You can also do an EPUB to EPUB conversion in calibre, which will
convert this book from EPUB 3 to EPUB 2 and might allow GPB to open it.

ANother thing you can do is tell calibre not to update metadata when
using Save to disk (in Preferences->Saving to disk) then calibre will
not touch the epub file at all.
