I'm not sure what you mean by dead loop, but I assume you mean the
conversion is not completed after a while. Conversion for pathological
cases has been known to take 48 hrs, just let it run.

You can reduce the amount of time it takes, by

1) Specifying an input character encoding in the Look & Feel->Text
section of the conversion dialog

2) Setting the formatting style to plain in the TXT Input section of the
conversion dialog.

With those two changes conversion took ~ 5 mins on my computer.
