series number does not increment when drag and drop onto a series

Bug Description
When I import a epub magazine, I normally drag it into the series I want it to live in. Every time I import the file, I need to edit the metadata and set the series number manually. If I import the epub file, then edit the meta data straight away before I drag it into an existing series, then select that series via the drop down menu, the series number takes the last number+1, which is what I expect to happen when I drag and drop it in the first place.
There is an inconsistency in operation here with the auto-incrementing of the series number via two different methods of attaching it to a series
