That means the database on the device is corrupted in some way. The most common cause is not ejecting the device from the PC correctly.

The fix unfortunately is to get the database rebuilt on the device. Logging out of the Kobo account on the device will create a new database. When you login again, it will reload the sideloaded books from the device. Unfortunately, this means you lose the reading status of these books.
