Bug Description
I am trying to transfer my ebooks to my MacBooks pro from iPad. I have them on my mac but it only shows numbers. If I open with Ibooks I can read them fine. I can not add them to calibre in order to convert to a Mobi to put on my Kindle. Attached is the error message I am getting.
Any help will be appreciated. I imported them with iTunes and with Explore.
OS El Captain 10.11.1
version 245.11

There is no way to transfer books from an ipad to a computer using
calibre. Depending on what app you are using on your ipad to read books,
you may or may not be able to export the books from it. If you use
ibooks there are some scripts floating around on the net to export epub
files from itunes/ibooks, which you can then add to calibre. If you are
using some other app, then it will depend on the app.
One generic method is to simply download the ebooks as epub files from
the website of whatever store you bought them from, assumingthe store
allows that.
