Bug Description

I see that you do not consider #787020 and #1255781 to be bugs. Could you perhaps consider changing a message such as:

"Book and metadata from the selected books will be merged into the first selected book (Foo)."

to something like

"Book and metadata from the selected books will be merged into the first selected book (Foo dated 30 Aug 2015)."

This will be useful to differentiate between identically named book entries.

Or perhaps the "first selected" book's row can be colour-coded in the background.

Thanks.

Thanks :) This interface is far more useful. However, I see now that I haven't explained myself clearly. The "date" I was talking about was the "date added" rather than the "date published". When two books with largely identical metadata are being merged, the difference is usually the dates that they were added to Calibre. This date is also visible in the background behind the merge dialog. Perhaps that can be added to the text box as well.

Thank you.

Both dates are displayed. For example

Target book
Calibre Blog - calibre

Date: 31 Aug 2015
Published: Aug 2015
Formats: AZW3, DOCX, EPUB, MOBI, PDF
