Bug Description

calibre, version 2.35.0
WARNING: Failed: Kobo database version unsupported - See details

Your Kobo is running an updated firmware/database version. As calibre does not know about this updated firmware, database editing is disabled, to prevent corruption. You can still send books to your Kobo with calibre, but deleting books and managing collections is disabled. If you are willing to experiment and know how to reset your Kobo to Factory defaults, you can override this check by right clicking the device icon in calibre and selecting "Configure this device" and then the "Attempt to support newer firmware" option. Doing so may require you to perform a factory reset of your Kobo.
Device database version: 121.
Device firmware version: (3, 17, 3)

It doesn't work with "attempt to support newer firmware" option either.
Running on Win 7.1

What does 'It doesn't work with "attempt to support newer firmware" option either.' mean? Are you getting the same message, or something different? It should work, and it is working for me with four different Kobo ereaders. And I haven't heard of any problems.

If, once you enable the attempt to support newer firmware" option and restarted calibre you are getting another error, can you please post it. Or tell me how it is not working.

Sorry I could've been clearer. With the newer firmware option selected; I
select a book, click on the send to device button. Nothing goes down into
"jobs", nothing except the folder and file names get transferred over to the
Kobo. The file sizes are 0. No error message comes up but when you look in
Windows Explorer at the Kobo, only the file name is there, not the content.
Calibre was working great before I upgraded the Kobo firmware, and I can
copy the files over manually and it works.

If you copy a book to the device using explorer does it work? This makes me think the device is not mounted correctly.

If that is working, can you run calibre in debug mode, send a book and post the log? This is done by right clicking on the preferences button and selecting "Restart in debug mode". When you close calibre after this, it will display the debug log.

Since the update to Calibre-2.36.0 this is now working for me.
