Bug Description
I have a big problem with Calibre on my Windows 8.1 PC. When I try to open Calibre, system freezes after few seconsd, and I have to restart my PC. I've tried 64bit, 32bit and portable versions, but result is the same. Deleting program data and disabling antivirus (Eset NOD32) didn't help, either.

You likely have lots of old window auto-update files hanging around your
PC. This causes windows to freeze for a time after first boot when it scans
them. For some reason it often decides to scan them when you start
calibre. See
