Bug Description

I just tried to upgrade from 2.13 to 2.15 - The instal seems to go ok - but I'm not able to start the program on my IMac running osx 10.7.5
When I click on the Icon I can see that its "jumping" but before it comes to show the "big icon" on the screen i stops

I have now installed 2.14 and it works well

Thanks for you great program and happy new year

I'm going to need some information, open Terminal.app and run:

/Applications/calibre.app/Contents/MacOS/calibre

and post the output

(this is with 2.15 installed)

 status incomplete

Changed in calibre:
status: New → Incomplete

Try looking in Console.app to see if anything is printed there when
calibre fails to launch. Also you can try removing it from the dock and
then re-adding (assuming you are launching it from the dock).

Note that this bug only affects OS X 10.7 and 10.8. You can also update OS X to workaround it. Or you can run the following command in Terminal.app to fix calibre 2.15

curl -L https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibre/raw/master/setup/installer/osx/app/site.py > /Applications/calibre.app/Contents/Resources/Python/lib/python2.7/site.py

I posted calibre bug 1407804, and have now re-downloaded and re-installed Calibre 2.15 and it works! Thank you so much for the quick response. I don't know what I'd do without Calibre, and I'm glad to support it.
