Bug Description

In version 2.0 max osx 10.9.4 under metadata the arrows between author and author sort seem to have no effect. Copy/paste has to be done manually to move contents from one side to the other or back.

I cannot replicate this on my OS X machine. Steps I Tried:

1) Select a book and click edit metadata
2) In the authors field change the author to abc xyz
3) Click the right arrow
4) Author sort field becomes xyz, abc

 status invalid

Changed in calibre:
status: New → Invalid

Wow you¹re quick

what I tried is:
1) Select a book and click edit metadata
2) In the authors field change the author to abc, xyz
3) Use the small arrow beneath the right arrow
4) Select Copy author to author sort (so it sholud be exactly the sme
there as it work in former versions) => this doesn¹t work (also not the
other way round)

Thanks a lot

Those steps work for me

abc, xyz becomes abc, xyz when clicking the option to copy author to
author sort.

And note that when the author name has a comma you do not need to use
the option to copy as the default action will copy it anyway.

Maybe it¹s my copy?
I add a pic which functions have no effect (german version)
Thanks

I suggest you wait and try this Friday's release. There have been many bugs related to Qt 5 fixed. Possibly one of them affects you.
