PDF ToC omitting entries in parentheses

Bug Description
Many times when I am converting an EPUB to a PDF, ToC entries which contain parentheses in the EPUB ToC will not show up in the same way in a PDF. Anything within or after the parentheses gets omitted. This has happened to several times, and is very frustrating. Especially when it happens in the middle heading. For example "Into the Great (Un)Known" would show up in the PDF ToC as "Into the Great".
In the case of my example "The Bad Sister (1)" and "The Bad Sister (2)" both show up in the PDF as "The Bad Sister". The parentheses are included as part of the CSS, so I'm not sure why it is being thrown out.
I am using 1.47.0 on Windows. In the interest of copyright and file size, I included only a stripped version with the affected chapters. I am unable to add 2 attachments.
Has anyone else had similar experiences that knows how to adjust for it? Aside from just editing the PDF after the fact.

This is the PDF output, since you can only add one at a time. As you can see from the side ToC, the (1) and (2) have been left out.
