tags are not shown alphabetically in Book Details Window

After editing metadata, why tags are not shown in alphabetical order at "Book Details Window"?

Previously, tags were arranged automatically in alphabetical order when editing metadata was finished.

Hi Kovid,

Is this behaviour, (automatic alphabetic sorting), expected in custom columns of the tag-like type (I mean the "Comma separated text, like tags, shown in the tag browser")?

Because if it is, then it's broken. Custom columns of the tag-like type are not sorted.

(If the current behaviour is intended, could you explain why? or how can I get my custom columns of these type to be automatically sorted like tags?)

No custom columns are emant to be displayed in the order they are
entered. If you want them displayed alphabetically, simply enter them
alphabetically.

I've just noticed that custom columns are alphabetically sorted if you edit them in the main Calibre window (I mean the book list)!!!

(Which in my opinion is just great and a more coherent behaviour against the official Tag column behaviour which is always alphabetically sorted).

Despite what you previously said, could this behaviour be extended (as it already exists in Calibre) to the Edit Metadata Dialogue?
