Bug Description

Bonjour,

Salutations.
Olivier

Unfortunately, I don't speak French. But, from Google translate, I think you are asking to be able to create collections on the Kobo device from calibre. If that is correct, you can. See http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193184 for details of how to do it. If you cannot read English there are are French speaking posters on MobileRead. One of them may be able to translate this, or point to equivalent instructions in French.

And translated by Google Translate:

Hello,

What we would like if to have if possible series converted in Collection in KOBO. I have tried to follow the previous recommendation but unfortunately nothing works and I don't want to go title by title with Kobo utilities.

It's an absolute nightmare not to be able to find your series in the device. Thanks for your help.

The way to put books into series collections is described in the link I included. If this is not working, then there is a problem. It is definitely working here.

From experience, the most common reason is a step of the configuration is missed. And the most common step missed is setting the "Metadata Management" option on the "Sending to devices" page of the preferences. This needs to be set to automatic.

If the configuration is correct, then it should work. If it doesn't, I need more information.

Firstly, a description of what you are seeing happening and what you expect to happen. Maybe I have missed something in the original request. Google might not have translated it properly for me. And the statement of "I don't want to go title by title with Kobo utilities"does not make sense to me. The utilities plugin does not have any function to create collections on the device. It can help clean them up and it can set the series information (as well as other metadata). The latter can work on a single book or on a selected set of books.

Another way to help debug the problem is a debug log. Running calibre in debug mode will produce a debug log when calibre is closed. If you do this, connecting the device and let the device jobs run and then close calibre and post the log, I can see what is happening and hopefully why the collections are not created.

Hello,

After changing the language of Calibre in english and following once more the first link, I solved the problem. Thank for the time you took to answer our questions.
