Multiple users cannot run Calibre concurrently

Bug Description

We are running Calibre version 1.36 on Mac OS 10.9.2.

This is a multi-user Mac and we use Fast User Switching a lot. When more than one user tries to run Calibre concurrently it refuses to start saying that multiple users cannor run it at the same time. This is very annoying. Each user should be able to run Calibre without interfering with other users, just like every other app on this machine.

All Calibre's volatile state should be stored in the user's home directory not in some system-wide location.

All of calibre's state is stored in user's home directories. Multiple
users can run calibre just fine on Windows and Linux. I have no idea
what prevents it on OS X, but as I am no Mac expert and OSX tends to do
everything a little differently, you are on your own trying to debug
this problem.
