problem with bulk metadata editing in calibre 1.25

Since I updated calibre to version 1.25 this morning, I can't do bulk metadata editing without doing a search and replace. Hereunder the error log:

ERREUR : Recherche/Remplacement non valide: Modèle de recherche non valide : You must specify a search expression in the "Search for" field.

It worked fine with the preceding versions, and it still works if I choose my one and only pre-registered search - which I don't want to do since I have to undo it afterwards. So I have to edit books one by one, which still works.
