Bug Description
The more I've used Calibre, the more I've seen its potential beyond just e-books - the power for me lies in its ability to maintain multiple tags/tagging systems/tag hierarchies/etc. for content rather than a single Windows folder hierarchy. I have begun using Calibre in this capacity to manage much more content than just e-books: videos, images, etc.
Through this process, I discovered that the Automatic Add functionality which works so well for "e-book" document types (pdf, epub, docx, mobi, etc.) apparently does not work for non-e-book content (such as jpg, mp4, etc.). This content can be added manually from within Calibre, but it sometimes becomes trying to remember which types of content can be placed in the specified auto add folder and which types of content must be added manually (many times, I have wondered why Calibre has not added a certain type of content placed in the auto add folder - only to realize later that it is non-e-book content that I must add manually).
Is it possible to allow all file types to be added via the auto add functionality? I don't view this as new core functionality for Calibre as much as a method to eliminate the manual work of adding non-e-book content by hand from within Calibre.
Thanks for your time.
Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every Friday.
