Bug Description

Feature Request:
Calibre renames files according to a transliteration of metadata (author, title, etc) that is entered in Non-Latin Characters. My device (Kobo Aura) does not render Arabic characters well; so I can't tell Arabic books apart. I want to have an option in 'send to device' to send a Latin transliteration of metadata, particularly title, author, and series fields.
I'm using Calibre 1.9

@Charles: Could you add a transliterate template function then the OP
could use metadata pluugboards to do what he wants. See
utils/filenames.py for an example of how to call the transliterate
function.

@kovid: Thank you. That is exactly what I intended to do, a metadata plugboard. But unfortunately I couldn't find the transliteration function.
