Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
If some books are added and the "Mark newly added books" option is set, then the number of marked books is reflected in the menu option of the "Mark Books" toolbar button named "Show marked books". If some marked books are then deleted, the number in this menu is not updated accordingly.
In my case I added 21 new books, so the entry said "Show marked books (21) Ctrl+Shift+M", I deleted all but three but the entry still said "21".

Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every Friday.
