calibre cannot find any mounted, writable partitions for your device. Either mount
them yourself before starting calibre or fix UDisks on your system.

Note that this is a regression from wheezy. This used to work fine last week, and since I upgraded to jessie (yesterday), this stopped working.

Can you expand on what you mean by "fix udisks"?

Running udisks --dump seems to fix the problem, but I don't understand why that's necessary...

calibre uses udisks to mount unmounted devices. Since it cannot find mounted partitions belonging to the T1, udisks mounting failed. Which implies that udisks is broken on your system. SO you either need to mount manually before starting calibre, or fix udisks. I have no idea how you'd go about fixing it, since that t4ends to be distro and udisks version specific.
