I am unable to replicate this problem with your database. I am using OS X 10.8.2 (the latest release of Mountain Lion).

Please create the same test catalog again. After the job completes, click 'Jobs' in the lower right corner, then double-click the 'Generate catalog' job to open the job results. Select all of that text, paste it into a new comment on this ticket.

Please confirm your version of OS X. Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner, then About This Mac. Underneath the large OS X, what is the version?

Also, please reconfirm your version of calibre. When calibre starts, what is the calibre version shown in the lower left?

I've submitted a patch that fixes the problem. The patch should be included with the next release of calibre.

If you'd like to try the patch on your machine to confirm it's working correctly, here are the steps to follow:

- Exit calibre
- Download the attached 'epub_mobi_builder.py'
- Open the Applications folder on your Mac.
- Right click on calibre, Show package contents
- Navigate to the following folder: Contents/Resources/Python/site-packages/calibre/library/catalogs
- Copy 'epub_mobi_builder.py' into this directory
- Restart calibre
- Build your catalog
- Report the results

You can delete files.zip from post #1.

This code hasn't changed in months. Attach your metadata.db exhibiting the problem and I'll take another look.

sky_kama, I have submitted a patch that should fix this problem under 10.6.8. The fix will be in the next release of calibre, 0.9.34. You may remove your metadata.db file from this ticket.

Go to Apple menu | System Preferences… | Personal | Language & Text | Region. What region is selected?

For what it's worth, this bug does not exist under 10.8.x aka Mountain Lion.

I think I have it this time for sure. I had the right fix, but put it in the wrong place. Fix should be in the next release of calibre (0.9.36).

Fantastic! Is it possible to get a pre release build? so i can test it. (if it is not to much work to generate one)

You can patch your local copy to try out the fix:
- Open your Applications folder in Finder.
- Right-click on calibre, select Show package contents
- Navigate to Contents/Resources/Python/site-packages/calibre/library/catalogs
- Copy the attached file epub_mobi_builder.py into that directory in the calibre package
- Note that there is an existing epub_mobi_builder.pyo file in that directory, you can ignore it
- Try building your catalog.

You can revert your current installation of calibre by simply deleting epub_mobi_builder.py from the directory.
