There has been a change to weather.com API. The Weather plug-in needs to be updated with the changes.

Discussion ongoing here about it : http://glx-dock.org/bg_topic.php?t=8945

Why do we need discussions? We need a solution!
All the nice people at http://glx-dock.org/bg_topic.php?t=8945
are doing there best but since 7 days there was only one solution
for the 64 bit version. For the 32 bit version there is no working
solution

not even a "Confirmed" status?
I'm on trusty 14.04 64bit, the patched file made the weather plugin disappear from the screen and plugins list. I reverted back to the non working backup..
Please someone respond!

It's patched in the developer version. I just downloaded it and compiled
it. Works great. Doesn't seem to have any crippling bugs either.

This continues to be broken... I was on Ubuntu 16.04 and assumed that for 16.10 it would be now be fixed. But still broken.... I guess I will have to download the source and build it...

For those of you who reach here -- running Ubuntu. There is an easy way to rebuild to the current release and eliminate this problem.
At http://glx-dock.org/ww_page.php?p=By%20compiling&lang=en
there is a script under Ubuntu/Debian that gets all the source and installs the necessary packages and builds and installs the current build.
See especially 'GIT: First Installation'

It is very nice to finally have the weather applet working properly again!!!
Now if Ubuntu would just update the glx-dock package and release it, so others don't have to go through this. Since attempting to install the sources and build without the above script is a nightmare!!!

Hi,

I am not wondering about this as the "maintainer" doesn't maintain
anything since a couple of years.
He thanked to the community to give him a resolution for the 64 bit
version and that was all. I believe
that this is an abandoned Project as it was not really changed for a
year and more.
For debian packages was the last change a year ago(see source forge).
Somebody are working
around with the plug-ins but that's all. The "weather man" was called
Fabunet and he is not present anymore.

I think that this is a general problem with Ubuntu. I'm still on 12.04
and guess what happened to me:
Last week was a update of the nvidia driver. This update crashed compiz
and x-org server. This was not
recoverable and I had to reconstruct my machine. Stable release 12.04?
not at all! Since more than two
years my samba crashes after reboot. I can't count the bug reports
anymore but nothing changes and so
on and on. But it is still better than all the windows os.

Ciao
Roberto
