Bug Description

Hello,

I may have found a bug in the dustbin of the Cairo Dock 3.2.1 version from the stable PPA. If you assign another 'full' symbol for the dustbin, the dock does -not- change the icon assigned to the 'full' status when you put something in there. According to the last warning below, it isn't allowed to monitor »trash://« for some reason. The dock also doesn't use the newly assigned symbol if the dock gets closed and restarted with a full dustbin.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 with a manually installed KDE 4.10.2 (newest).

This an excerpt from the bash. The last two warnings might be of some help. The command was 'sudo cairo-dock -o'.

Hi,
what if you launch the dock with cairo-dock -e gnome ?

Hello,

If you have exactly the same problem, can you try to open this URI 'trash://' with your files manager? e.g.:
   $ dolphin trash://

and with this command:
  $ gvfs-open trash://

Do you have errors?

Changed in cairo-dock-core:
status: New → Incomplete
affects: cairo-dock-core → cairo-dock-plug-ins

I think KDE-integration plugin needs to be updated (and sync with latest improvement made in gnome-integration plugin) ;)

Hello Matthieu,

what do you mean by 'Expired => Confirmed' ? Does the bug suddenly
appear in some of the newer versions now ? Has someone 'recycled' some
of the archived older code ... or how's that possible ?

Best Regards,
Michael.

@Michael: no it's just that Launchpad Janitor has changed the status to Expired because the status was 'Incomplete' (which is wrong).

We can confirm that "KDE-integration plugin needs to be updated (and sync with latest improvement made in gnome-integration plugin)"

summary: - Dustbin doesn't implement icon changes
+ KDE-integration plugin needs to be updated (and sync with latest
+ improvement made in gnome-integration plugin)

The bug is actually not about Dustbin any more, it's about the KDE
integratin plug-in that should use gvfs (until we do better).
so we can probably close this one and open a new one, I also think it's a
bit confusing ^_^
