It's the same for me on both Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon and 19.1 Xfce. Maybe related to Folders add-on not working as well.

Hi,
could you please run the dock with "cairo-dock -l debug > log.txt", reproduce the problem, and post the content of log.txt here ?

Also, do you have gvfsd running ("ps -ef|grep gvfsd") ?

On XFCE, the applet can be compiled to use gvfs or thunar, however I don't know if your build supports both.
On Mint Cinnamon, I believe it's a Gnome desktop, but it's worth checking if gvfsd is running.

Finally, does "xdg-open trash://" works ?

Thank you.

PS: yes, I believe that any file-related functions are affected by the same problem.

Thank you for the reply. I've uploaded a log file regarding the Folders applet with the issue here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/cairo-dock-plug-ins/+bug/1888049

Since they are probably related, that log might already help you out. If you do need a specific log for the Trash applet, please let me know and I'll see to it asap.

About gvfsd:
~$ ps -ef|grep gvfsd
wolf 1492 1435 0 11:57 ? 00:00:00 /usr/libexec/gvfsd
wolf 1502 1435 0 11:57 ? 00:00:00 /usr/libexec/gvfsd-fuse /run/user/1000/gvfs -f -o big_writes
wolf 1980 1492 0 11:57 ? 00:00:00 /usr/libexec/gvfsd-trash --spawner :1.3 /org/gtk/gvfs/exec_spaw/0
wolf 1988 1435 0 11:57 ? 00:00:00 /usr/libexec/gvfsd-metadata
wolf 2983 2820 0 12:01 pts/0 00:00:00 grep --color=auto gvfsd

And yes, "xdg-open trash://" works. Both tested on Cinnamon only for now (log is also from Cinnamon).
