Bug Description

First of all: Thanks for this awesome program!

How to reproduce:

1) install any Ubuntu desktop edition
2) play youtube video full-screen

Expected behaviour: Ubuntu sees you have an app in full-screen and doesn't let the screensaver kick in
Behaviour we get: Screensaver kicks in.

I'm not sure if this is a bug in caffeine or one in Ubuntu, but this behavior should be included in the OS by default. Maybe with a toggle in "power settings" to disable this. Are you working on including this in the default Ubuntu installation? Are you working on including this in the main repositories?

If not, can you tell us why? How can we help you do this?

Thanks!

This isn't caffeine's bug.

IMO this bug is on Adobe's (unfortunately proprietary & abandoned) Flash player as it supposed to utilize the existing API to inhibit screen saving but not doing so.

And for the "add to Ubuntu desktop default installation" thing I believe there's a Ubuntu project to assign this bug to instead of Caffeine

This behavior is not limited to Flash video. Full screen video from any
source in a browser doesn't inhibit the screensaver.

However, discussing who is responsible for this bug isn't helping to fix
the problem. What is important is who can fix this bug and how can it be
fixed. In an ideal world, the one who is responsible for the bug will fix
it, but this world is far from ideal, so let's be pragmatic and find a way
that is in our control to solve this bug.

If you know of a project I can assign this bug to, feel free to let me
know, so we can work towards fixing this very visible problem.

Caffeine is in Ubuntu since 15.10, so feel free to file a bug against Ubuntu asking for it in the default install. I would guess you simply file a bug against ubuntu-desktop (or the relevant metapackage for your preferred desktop), but I don't know.
