Bug Description

I understand that the latest Caffeine no longer has a GUI (I'm fine with that) or an indicator.

However without an indicator it isn't obvious if the app is running/working or not. Perhaps clicking the app icon in the dash should show a window saying "Run on startup [ON/OFF]" and a message, "Caffeine is currently running", any errors etc ?

I also really liked the indicator, since I was able to toggle it on and off much easier then by running it in the CLI.

no longer affects: ubuntu

Totaly agree, I ike Caffeine this way, but also I don't know if the app is running or not. In a first instance, I thought that the lack of indicator was a bug. Mmmmmm, what about an optional indicator? or a Unity Like window (like shutdown window) when Caffeine disable the Screensaver-Monitor Sleep, "saying "Run on [ON/OFF]" and a message, "Caffeine is currently running". Few options are better than no options.

Thanks.

I wracked my brain for hours trying to figure out why the indicator was not showing up! Why oh why was this ever removed? How on Earth am I supposed to *use* this application with no interface whatsoever? Am I to believe that turning it on and off is simply no longer supported?

Why can this not be an auto-toggling indicator or have an indicator option when starting from terminal? I used this for studying too where I had multiple pages open up for reference. Toggling was necessary!

I respect the maintainer's freedom to change the app as he sees fit; however, this new model doesn't work for me at all now. I need the screen to stay unlocked without any single program being fullscreen. The 2.5 version was the best for my needs. Version 2.6 (seemingly required for ubuntu 14.04) was still ok. But 2.7 is useless to me now.

Removing the indicator might be ok if caffeine would work in all cases,
but at the moment there are situations (usualy flashvideo player) where it won't detect the fullscreen mode.
As others said it was also usefull with other scenarios without fullscreen, so please bring back the gui (would be okay, if we can optional activate the gui)

I agree: there are non-fullscreen situations where I used it. 2.7 is useless for me.
