Bug Description
Cable crashes when you try to start it without internet connection. To improve this behaviour a dialog which tells you that you can't use cable without internet would be nice.

Birdie has a welcome widget (I think that's what it's called) that displays when there's no connection. Here's my suggestion for the contents of a similar page:
