Relative paths for branches are silently converted to absolute ones

bzr checkout ../repo/trunk .
bzr info
This shows that paths are stored in absolute form, which creates problems when backing up and restoring at a different location. This is probably true for other paths stored as well, since I've had various trouble after going through such a backup-restore operation.
