Bug Description

Hi I was checking in a rather large file about 255 Mb, and I got this error after it was pushing the revision to the BZR server I have running on a different PC.

The crash log is attached ..

added backup/wxforum.shadonet.com_2010.03.07_05.08
bzr: ERROR: bzrlib.errors.ErrorFromSmartServer: Error received from smart server: ('error', '')

*** Bazaar has encountered an internal error. This probably indicates a
bug in Bazaar. You can help us fix it by filing a bug report at
        https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr/+filebug
    attaching the crash file
        /home/jorg/.cache/crash/bzr-20100307125943-6324.crash
and including a description of the problem.

The crash file is plain text and you can inspect or edit it to remove
    private information.

The client's crash log doesn't provide much information... Is there a traceback recorded in the server's ~/.bzr.log?

Nonetheless, this is probably a duplicate of one of the memory bugs that already exists.

Committing a 255 MB file -- a backup? -- isn't a very good idea... And what use is versioning it anyway?

Hi Matt,

The server side log is attached, indeed it is a memory error.

That is besides the point. If it was a test file needed for an
application it should just check in fine. It does not matter what I
check in, a versioning system should not restrict me to small files only.

Thank you for your quick reply, if you need more information let me know.

Thank you. :) I'm pretty sure that one has been reported, but for the life of me I never have success when searching Launchpad for bugs...

I typed in the error but didn't got a eclusive match that I thought was
similar. But I am glad my errors are not exotic and I hope it gets fixed
soon. BZR rules when it comes to simplicity. I switched to SVN a few
times, but always seemed to come back to BZR for my personal use.
