This branch appears to have corrupted, and I haven't done anything strange to it.

The branch does seem to be broken, although I get a different error.

The copy in the mirrored area seems to be ok -- I can branch over http fine -- so we can replace the copy in the hosted area with the copy in the mirrored area and continue from there, I guess.

This seems to be a client bug, on investigation. You can work around it by using sftp instead of bzr+ssh.
