^- The raw size of inventories is expected to be quite large in this
format. (it gets a lot better in --2a).

You can see, though that the space on disk is approx 110MB of inventory
metadata and 450MB of file content. You can also see that it is storing
~1 Million file texts.

I don't know why your original repo shows about 200k more file texts,
and 1.1k revisions than the "repo up to the current commit level".

However, the numbers are at least consistent, even if they are surprising.
