Bug Description

I try to use sources from bzr-1.6.1, bzr-1.7rc1 and finally I use bzr-1.5-26.rpm.
I use openSUSE 11.1-Alpha3plus with kernel-2.6.27-rc5-git9-6-default.
I have problems with smart program.I suppose is a python dependencies.I want to download sources using bzr and execute
bzr branch lp:smart. Well this is all I can see after do it:
chema@linux-chema:~>bzr branch lp:smart
/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/bzrlib/lazy_import.py:195: DeprecationWarning: the sha module is deprecated; use the hashlib module instead module = __import__(module_python_path, scope, scope, [])
Segmentation fault
Any idea?
Regards

SSL support in openSUSE's latest Factory python is broken and causes segfaults, this bug has been reported and fixed, but the fix didn't yet propagate to Factory.
please wait for newest Python 2.6rc1, i'll submit buildservice link as soon as i get to work.

also, bzr doesn't work with python 2.6 yet, that is the mentioned https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr/+bug/269535

Let's not mix everything :)

We are tracking bzr bugs here, not python betas ones.

From a bzr point of view this bug is a duplicate of bug #269535: bzr is not yet compatible with python-2.6, please leave it as such.

If openSuse Factory has bugs (or provides outdated python versions), I'm sure they have a dedicated tracker.

The original bug report said bzr segfaulted. There are two root causes:

- SSL support broken as you mentioned (it will be better to provide a bug number for openSuse so that the original reporter can track this issue),

- bzr not supporting python-2.6 (for which bug #269535 is appropriate)

okay, sorry, i won't mangle your bugs any further ;e)

(but, as i see it, the only reason for bzr -segfault- is bug in opensuse python (which is btw properly tracked in bugzilla.novell.com), and python 2.6 support is a different issue, which is hidden by this one.)

No problem ;)

And we violently agree here that the segfault is a bug in opensuse python :D
