Hi,

I think we need to rebuild the package again due to more
problems with python-central.

I will do this tonight if no-one does it before me.

Thanks,

James

Hi,

You are not actually getting the package from the PPA,
as there is a newer version in hardy itself.

I am therefore reassigning the bug to the Ubuntu bzr package.

I've no idea if a simple rebuild will solve it this time.

Thanks,

James

Hi again,

I got confused. This is actually a problem with the PPA, not
the hardy package.

I will look at it tonight.

Thanks,

James

this package is not in hardy, but comes from the bzr PPA; the fix is to rebuild bzr and bzrtools in the bzr PPA with the current version of python-central. Sorry for this necessity.

This bug was fixed in the package python-central - 0.5.62ubuntu1

---------------
python-central (0.5.62ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low

  * pkgprepare, pkginstall: Always use the default runtime as a last resort.
  * Handle updates gracefully, if the old package version has shared
files already located in /usr/share/pyshared, and the new package has
them still in the old location in /usr/share/pycentral. LP: #197841.
  * dh_pycentral: Remove an empty /usr/lib after moving all files.
    Closes: #452227.
  * Users tend to modify the /usr/bin/python symlink. Allow pythonX.Y
    and /usr/bin/pythonX.Y as values. Closes: #378146, #450491, #467372.
  * pycentral updatedefault: Fix name in error message. Closes: #432813.
  * pyversions.py: Assume no old and unsupported versions, when
the python_defaults file is not yet installed. Closes: #405781.
  * dh_pycentral: Set file permissions independently of the umask.
    Closes: #398729.
  * Use a default value for supported python versions, if python-minimal
is not installed, and apt-cache is not available. Closes: #394084, #397495.

Hi Mary,

Does the upgrade work for you if you upgrade to the newer
python-central (0.5.62ubuntu1)?

If so, then we can probably avoid the rebuild.

Thanks,

James

I can now install the bzr package, with python-central 0.5.62-ubuntu1.
