Bug Description

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Installer Standalone
Release 2.2.0

I ran the installer with default settings, choosing TortoiseBzr feature, not removing any prechecked features, nor changing the install location.

During the install process my taskbar and desktop icons disappeared. The process explorer.exe was still running, but i found no way to make the taskbar or the icons reappear. Killing the exeplorer.exe process and the relaunching it from the task manager file -> New Task (Run..) restored system to working condition. I was not able to reproduce the crash by installing Bazaar again to another directory.

From windows event viewer i found the following info:

Application 'C:\Windows\explorer.exe' (pid 3068) cannot be restarted - Application SID does not match Conductor SID..

I think it's related to TortoiseBzr. Can you check that without
installing TortoiseBzr everything works OK?

I wonder if this is something with tortoise overlays, maybe there is a new version that we should be using? I think I read that overlay stuff changed in Win7, but I could be wrong.

I have tried with or without TortoiseBzr, after 'clean' uninstall and reboot, but I'm unable to reproduce the crash, it only happened on the first install. I'm pretty confident that it was caused by the Bazaar installer though, as my explorer has not crashed before in Windows 7, and it happened about 2/3 through the bazaar install.

It may or may not be relevant that i also had TortoiseHG installed?

Changed in bzr-windows-installers:
