would be nice if index could be shared by branches in a shared repository

Bug Description

If I index a branch in a shared repository it can take a very long time. If I branch the branch that has been indexed within the shared repository and then index the new branch it re-indexes all the revisions again (even though at this point the 2 branches are identical and share 100% of their history). As the index is so expensive to create it would be very nice if shared revisions did not have to be re-indexed each time.

This is a goal, but it is not feasible yet; need to get a fast 'in branch' test for revision ids, then it can be done.

I will note that the needed oracle is likely best prototyped in
bzr-search, and then examined for integration to bzr.
