Bug Description

When trying to push a checkout of ‘lp:subvertpy’ to Mercurial, a ‘ValueError’ is raised because — apparently — some content isn't available. A ‘bzr check’ reported some ‘inconsistent parents’, and a ‘bzr reconcile’ removed them, but to no avail. Both ‘bzr push’ and ‘bzr dpush’ fail.

Mercurial also fails to convert this repository with a similar error; the output of both commands is attached to this bug.

Oops, I just noticed that the output from Bazaar was from trying to push to a non-empty repository. I've attached the proper error message.

I first saw this with a stable build of Bazaar from MacPorts; that's why I upgraded to the latest development branch…

push in bzr-hg is still very limited at the moment. You can only push
changes to existing files, not push revisions that introduce new files
yet.

  status triaged
  importance medium

Changed in bzr-hg:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Triaged

This is not a bug in subvertpy.

Ah, I see. Do you have any idea, then, why Mercurial also fails to convert subvertpy?

Sorry if I did the wrong thing in launchpad — I'm quite new to it :)

You might want to try running "bzr reconcile" in the subvertpy checkout
you have before using "hg convert".

Ideally "hg convert" should not require reconcile to be run, or at least
print a proper error recommending you to run "bzr reconcile".

Cheers,

Jelmer

I already had run that, but I just did it again; same error :/

No idea then, sorry. Please file a bug against Mercurial convert about
this.

Cheers,

Jelmer
