Bug Description

It seems to be an I/O error related to the gnome keyring.
Bzr does not catch an IOError exception when an expected file
is not readable or doesn't exist.

It also fails with a sftp:// URL. (The initial failure was with a bzr+ssh URL.)

This appears to be a duplicate of bzr-gtk bug fixed in 0.99.0
