Specifying Directories to Filter only Deletes Subdirectories/Files, Not the Directory Itself

Bug Description

I used the following command:

bzr fast-import-filter infile.fi -x examples/ > outfile.fi

After importing this new outfile, I noticed that the examples/ directory still existed, although it had been cleared of it's contents. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a question, but I'm filing it as a bug to be safe.

I'm guessing that the --includes option needs a trailing slah on the path ut the --excludes options doesn't want it. Does it work correctly if you leave the / off?

We may need to simply strip the trailing slash if one is given?
